The Vision of the Great Image in Daniel 2: The Ancient Prophecy of Human Government

King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the Great Image in Daniel 2, and the prophet Daniel’s interpretation of it, is a remarkable forecast of the history of human government upon the earth. Daniel: A Man Who Saw Visions

Daniel was a truly remarkable servant of the Lord. He was a prophet (Matt. 24:15), and yet, for the most part he did not prophesy. The Beginning and the End of God’s Work

We can see something of God’s eternal purpose by comparing the first two chapters of the Bible, Genesis 1-2, with the last two chapters, Revelation 21-22. This is because these are the only chapters in the Bible that show us God’s work before the curse came in as a result of the fall in Genesis 3 (Gen. 3:17) and after it has been completely removed with God’s final judgments in Revelation 20 (Rev. 22:3).The gospel we preach today is the gospel of the kingdom of the heavens. God’s Kingdom and God’s Building

Today when we preach the gospel our goal should not merely be to get people to heaven, but rather, to bring the kingdom of the heavens to the earth. It is when God has His kingdom, His ruling among men, that He can carry out His work of building up the church. The Reality of the Kingdom of the Heavens

God’s desire and intention is to dwell with man on the earth for eternity (Rev.21:2-3), but He cannot yet do that because mankind has joined in Satan’s rebellion against Him.So, as the believers in Christ we should have a deep realization that when we were saved, we were called out of the fallen, rebellious world-system to follow Christ and live in the reality of the kingdom of the heavens on the earth today.
